Welcome to 2010!

Well, I haven't been updating this blog as much as I would have liked to (big surprise). Either way, I guess a lot has happened. The second semester at Georgia Tech has started and it has definitely been pretty busy even though I'm taking less credits this semester than I did last semester. The main culprit of this is architecture studio.

Someone at church asked me what my major was. I replied that I was an architecture student. She then asked me if I liked it. I replied with a hesitant yes, but clarified that I would like architecture a lot more once I finished the school aspect of it. I actually do enjoy my time studying architecture and hanging out with the studio mates is always fun. I have been blessed with being stuck with fairly normal people. Last semester's studio group actually couldn't have been that much better, so it was hard to top that. I don't think this semester's group will be as good, but I'm not really complaining about it. Anyhow, the person at church then asked me if I had read 'The Fountainhead' by Ayn Rand. When I told her that I haven't, she recommended me that it was a very good read and that I should read it if I ever need to be re-inspired to become an architect. I thought that it was good to keep that in mind.

I did manage to get an on-campus apartment--which is really nice. Instead of a 5-bedroom 1 bathroom house, I am now in a 4-bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. To make things even better, there are only 3 occupants in this apartment, so I am able to get my own bathroom. The room is slightly smaller, but it's not anything that I can't handle really. The mattress sucks though, but oh well. My new roommates are pretty cool though. Both of them are grad students and seem like good people. Billy is an Electrical Engineering student I think, but he really has a passion for music production and from what I have heard, is quite talented. I'm sure some people living in this apartment don't appreciate the heavy bass of his really nice sound system, but I don't mind. I sometimes even turn down my own music to listen to what he's cooking up. Darryl is pretty big. He's a guy I wouldn't mess with if I didn't really know him--but he's a nice guy. He was a computer science major and is now doing human-computer interfacing or something like that. He also works for the CDC.

I would say that I'm pretty socially stable I guess--relative to what I usually am like. I have not been able to make it to Campus Crusade as much this semester because they switched the meeting times when I planned my schedule to fit the old meeting time. I will be able to make it to a small group bible study though--hopefully. I guess the studio mates would be my main social outlet--which isn't too bad. I have a lot more similar classes with more people this semester than I did last semester, so that helps. Photography club has also been doing alright I guess. People know me a little bit better now. I did manage to sell a photograph; that was pretty exciting. I will try to be more assertive and shoot more events in the future.

I think this semester will really test my time management. Hopefully I will be able to pull through.

Weather here sucks right now.
